Why our imagination is a precious weapon as female artists

Have you faced situations where you have been treated differently because you were a woman?

Of course. Our world is unfortunately still in a hierarchy where masculinity is rewarded with power, and above all I think a very noticeable aspect is safety. Feminine people, not only including biological women, are subjected to having to carry a paranoia around with them because of the unfair reality of sexual violence that lurks within our communities. I feel that difference in safety as a woman, where actions that should be harmless, like walking home at night are compromised in fear.

What is you secret to finding balance between your family life, your professional life and your personal life?

Gratitude! In life, if you are grateful, that energy will transmute any sinking feelings of stress or anxiety and will manifest tenfold in every sphere of your life.

What positive piece of advice or encouragement would you give to other Code Eve women?

Your imagination is a precious weapon. Do not let anybody poison your ability to imagine a better you for you. When you believe in your own creativity, and know in faith that you can engineer your reality without anybody's pressing judgements - your inner strength really flourishes!

What is your way of being feminine?

I have no defined way of being feminine, because I think femininity has been constructed for us in such specific rules. I am just me, and the presentation of my femininity does not necessarily align with my physical representation of myself. For me, feminine energy is one that attunes to the subconscious, dream realm as well as through a deep empathy and love that feminine people have given me throughout my life.
